12 Tags of 2013 - December 2013

 

Actually, it was a late post. 

As I really want to try the Modeling film of “clearly for art”, as a result, I have late for completing last tags in the early of 2014. I just received in the late of Jan 2014.

This film is cool!! Although I am not using the bright color as Tim Holtz used. 

But I like these soft color effect too.

 Without the SPLATTER BRUSH (It's really difficult to find in HK.), what I use is the Baby Milk Bottle Cleaning Brushes. It is not as the same effect of the Splatter Brush.(I need to work hard to find the same brush!! I think)  But at least, it was a Good Try!!

Since I am very busy on moving my craft room, it's a quick Nov 13 tag inspiration by Tim Holtz

I used 1 hour to completed it and started to tidy up my new craft room (workshop)

Yes, I couldn't find my chalk. Therefore, I used Gelato to replace it.

Tim Holtz - 12 tags of 2013 (August 2013)

 

 

I love the color combo of pumice stone and frayed burlap. I seldom to use this and it looked really vintage effect. I color the train ticket' stamp with  Barn Door and Walnut Stain distress markers.

It is really a easy and wonderful technique to using the mask sheet to protect the image. I used it on the train and make it be the top layer. 

 

As I haven't got the "Tim Holtz - Idea-ology - Word Bands".  Therefore, I make the same background color sheet, stamped and cut on it by using the rubber stamp - Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps 2013 SIMPLE SAYINGS. I used the 3D foam to make it more top layer.

Tags of 2013 - June 13

 

Time really flies, a few days later, Year 2013 has been over a half.

This Tim Holtz's inspiration tags for June 13 is mainly focus on using the Distress Marker.

 

I really like this markers with water effects.

It helps to blend the colors and look much more soft.

 

 

Have you ever try using three different "distress family " ink to create the base color of a tag.

It's really funny to see the different effect with water together.

I use the previous book stamp to creat the base pattern as well.

 



Besides, I have made a simple test on different kind of markers on my hand.

 

 

This come result in different effects on the stamping paper.

I do not have talent on coloring. ( I should more practice on that! Practice make perfect)

The Distress marker is the easiest to handle against the other two.

But of course, there is limited color choices compared with Copic.

SpectrumNori is price comparatively and good to the new crafters.

12 tags of 2013 - April 2013

It was completed in a rushing time again last light. I just try to completed each monthly tag within befor the monthly ended. I have applied different medium to make the different vintage style on the background and embellishments.

 

It's so happy that the Tim Holtz Distress Paint METALLIC SHADES SET OF 3 Ranger was arrived with in April and I can apply it to the backgroud of this tag.

 

 

 The Backgroud color was used the Tim's Technique but without adding the Broken China and Salty Ocean. I have added the Chipped Sapphire instead.  It's really shining for the Metallic Color. (Sorry that I am not a good photographer to have a better photo to display it!)

 

The Dragonfly and the Roman numbers were colored by using Vintaj Patinas.  I love the double wings of this embellishment. It's a metal Dragonfly. Is it cute?

 

 

Are you thinking about why this metal butterfly look similar to  the sizzix die that you got. Because it was used the Chipboard with this die. I have knoned and used the new Paint from Ten Second Studio during joining  HKMC retreat 2013 in Hong Kong. This is called the VerDay Paint. I apply it on the chipboard and relly love the texture like a vintage style texture. I knowed there are some demo video at Youtube also. You may search it.

It was completed in a rushing time. Just try to completed within March.

 

Therefore, I haven't used the "Distress Paint" colored Pin. I have added the light clay embellishment which was prepared during workshop serveral weeks ago.

 

I used the little fur ball to replace theTim Holtz Idea-ology SILVER TINSEL TWINE. As I told, I haven't got the enough time, I used the fur ball with white and gold color. I really like the little fur ball inside the rabbit although it made the rabbit being fat. (haha!!)

 

Besides, I used the big rabbit bow of the  to replaced the small one. Yes, it is the Sizzix Bigz Die - Easter Elements die from Sizzix also. I throught the rabbits are brothers. Haha....
